Challenge of the month:
July

Build and share your object detection project in minutes

Public Projects help the community learn from each other, and teach developers and engineers how to solve real-world problems with Edge Impulse. This month we are asking developers to see what problems they can solve with object detection on tiny devices!

With object detection you are able to detect the presence and the position of any object within an image. Use our object detection pre-built ML block that leverages transfer learning to quickly get your device to detect the objects of your choice.

$2,000

Best project of the month

All winning entries are also entered into our annual competition for a chance to win more prizes.

Judging criteria

Quality

You must have uploaded and trained on enough data to make an accurate and functional model. We suggest you include a Readme that describes in detail what the project is suitable for, the types of Blocks used, and the methodology used to collect your data set.

Innovation

We encourage the project to be a novel application or use-case, an incredible data set, or an innovative way to solve a problem. We suggest you present a unique and valuable use of AI / ML to solve a real-world problem.

Originality

Your work must be unique, and not plagiarized someone else's work. Using a Public Project as the basis for your work is fine, but enough evidence of individuality or improvement must be shown to separate your project from the original creator.

Best projects
of the year

All winning entries are automatically entered into the annual competition. The three best projects will each receive an amazing prize pack.

An amazing prize pack (3 winners)
