1. Scope and Applicability
This Privacy Policy sets forth the privacy practices of Edgeimpulse, Inc. (“Edge Impulse” or “we” or “us” or “our”) for (1) our website located at www.edgeimpulse.com (the “Site”) and (2) all Edge Impulse software and applications (including, without limitation, mobile software and applications) (the “Software”) and all other Edge Impulse products or services provided or otherwise made accessible on or through the Software or the Site (collectively the “Services”), where Edge Impulse is the controller (or analogous term under applicable privacy laws). Edge Impulse is wholly owned by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
This Privacy Policy does not apply when we process Personal Information as a processor (or a comparable role such as a “service provider”) on behalf of our customers, including customers who purchase Services directly from us and customers who purchase the Services through one of our authorized Channel Partners. Each of our customers, not Edge Impulse, controls what information about you they submit to, publish on, or generate in connection with the Services (“Customer Data”). For more information about collection and use of your information as part of Customer Data by an Edge Impulse customer, please reach out to the customer directly. We are not responsible for the privacy or data security practices of our customers, which may differ from those set forth in this Privacy Policy. If you wish to exercise any rights you may have under applicable data protection laws, please inquire with the applicable customer directly. Customer Data is controlled by the respective privacy policy of the applicable customer, which we encourage you to review for more information about their practices.

The tables below identify the categories of personal information we may collect about you (and may have collected in the prior 12 months), the purpose for that collection, as well as the categories of third parties to whom we may disclose this information.

Where we use, disclose or process deidentified data we will maintain and use the information in deidentified form and not to attempt to reidentify the information, except in order to determine whether our deidentification processes are reasonable and adequate pursuant to applicable privacy laws.
3. Sources of Personal Information
We generally collect Personal Information from the following categories of sources:
- as voluntarily provided by you or automatically collected when you use the Services;
- our Channel Partners, resellers and other third parties;
- your employer or company if you interact with our Services through your employer or company; and
- other sources, including but not limited to, our affiliates and subsidiaries, publicly accessible sources, social networks, our vendors and service providers, our business and marketing or data analytics partners, and third-party integrations you consent to, or through transactions such as mergers and acquisitions.
4. Do We Use Cookies?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (subject to your consent, where required by law). These cookies enable the site to recognize your browser and, if you have a registered account, associate it with your registered account. We may use both session Cookies and persistent Cookies to identify that you’ve logged in to the Services and to tell us how and when you interact with our Site and Services. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and thereby more valuable for publishers and third party advertisers. - Hubspot. We use the HubSpot marketing automation suite to track your use of our Site and to assist us with our marketing and sales efforts. You can view HubSpot’s privacy policy at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy?_ga=2.70649495.600016260.1580080142-1809069190.1580080142.
- Gong.io (call/meeting audio/video recording and transcription service (includes automatic AI enabled conversation summarization and call analysis) used in conjunction with HubSpot and Google Meet: Gong.io uses cookies to enhance and personalize user experience, and they use three different types of cookies: (1) Necessary Cookies: These are essential for the website to function properly, allowing users to navigate and access features; (2) Statistics Cookies: These cookies help Gong.io track website traffic and understand user behavior, enabling them to improve the site's performance and user experience; (3) Marketing Cookies: These cookies are set by other domains and may be used for advertising, marketing, social media integration, or other purposes. Purpose of Cookies: Gong.io uses cookies to improve and personalize the user experience on their website and services, including necessary cookies for core functionality, analytics cookies to track website usage, and potentially third-party cookies for advertising and personalization, all aimed at improving user experience and understanding website performance. Privacy Policy: Gong's privacy policy outlines how they collect and use personal data, including data collected through cookies. Data Collection: They collect personal data automatically when you interact with their services or website, and sometimes directly from you or from other sources. Sensitive Data: Gong does not collect, use, or disclose sensitive personal data. Compliance: Gong is certified with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF).
- Facebook Meta Pixel. We may use Facebook Meta Pixel to customize our advertising and to serve you ads on your social media based on your browsing behavior. This allows your behavior to be tracked after you have been redirected to our Services by clicking on the a Facebook ad. The Facebook Meta Pixel stores a cookie on your device to enable us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. We do not have access to the information collected through the Facebook Meta Pixel. However, the information collected via the Meta Facebook Pixel is also stored and processed by Meta. Meta may link this information to your Facebook account and also use it for its own promotional purposes in accordance with the Meta Data Usage Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. The Meta Facebook Pixel also allows Meta and its partners to show you advertisements on and outside of Facebook. You can opt-out of displaying Facebook ads and sharing by visiting your Facebook Ad Settings, and you can clear and control the information third parties share with Facebook in your Off-Facebook Activity page. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can opt-out of Facebook ads through the Digital Advertising Alliance.
- Google Ads. We use Google Ads to deliver advertisements to you and to track whether you have interacted with an advertisement we have placed elsewhere on the internet. Google Ads stores a conversion tracking cookie on your device when you click on our advertisement. The information obtained through the cookie is used to generate statistics and allows us to see the total number of users who clicked on our advertisements. We also use Google Ads to present to users of our Website advertisements across the internet and within the Google advertising network based on their visits to our Website. - Linkedln Insights Tag. We use Linkedln Insights Tag to retarget our website visitors and learn insights about your interactions with our Linkedln advertisements. You can learn about Linkedln’s privacy practices at www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy and you can opt out of Linkedln Insights Tag at www.linkedin.com/psettings/.
- Twitter X Pixel. We use Twitter X Pixel to help us determine how effective our ad campaigns are. You can learn about Twitter’s X’s privacy practices relating to Twitter X Ads at https://xtwitter.com/en/privacy and you can prevent your participation in Twitter X Ads conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain.
Although we do our best to honor the privacy preferences of our Site visitors and customers, we are not able to respond to Do-Not-Track signals from your browser at this time.
5. Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose Personal Information as described above and to the following third parties and other recipients for the following business or commercial purposes:
- We may disclose your Personal Information to our subsidiaries and affiliates, or to contractors, service providers, legal and financial advisors, and other third parties we use to support our business.
- We may release your Personal Information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies or protect our or others’ rights, property or safety.
- Your Personal Information may be shared with our Channel Partners and other third parties that we have partnered with, such as to jointly create or offer a product, service or joint promotion, and they may contact you regarding their products or services.
- If you are using our Services as an authorized user of one of our customers, we may share your Personal Information with the applicable customer responsible for your access to the Services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of the applicable customer for more information.
- Your Personal Information may be transferred to another company in connection with a proposed or actual transfer, change of ownership, reorganization or assignment of all or part of our businesses or assets, including as part of a bankruptcy proceeding or otherwise.
- We may disclose your information where we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to detect or protect against fraud or security issues.
- We may disclose your information if required or permitted by applicable laws or regulations, including without limitation laws and regulations of the United States and other countries, or in the good faith belief that such obligations that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with a legal obligation or in response to a request from law enforcement or other public authorities wherever Edge Impulse may do business; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Edge Impulse; (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users, customers, and contractors/employees of Edge Impulse or others; or (d) enforce our Terms of Service, agreements, policies or otherwise protect against any legal liability.
6. How do we protect your Personal Information?
The security of your Personal Information is important to us; but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7. Retention of Personal Information
We retain your Personal Information for as long as you have an open account with us or as otherwise necessary to provide the Services to you, or, if you are an authorized user of our customer, to our customer. Despite the foregoing, in some cases we retain Personal Information for longer, if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes or collect fees owed, or is otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, rule, regulation or legal process.
8. Third-party Links and Sites
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our Site. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, services or applications, even if they are accessible through our Services. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from Children. If you become aware that a person under the age of 18 has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from Children without verification of parental consent where required by applicable law, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
10. Global Transfers of your Personal Information
We are a global business and your information may be transferred and be accessed from around the world, such as from countries where our affiliates and our service providers operate and which may not provide levels of data protection that are equivalent to those of your home jurisdiction. We will take steps to ensure that your information receives appropriate safeguards in the jurisdictions in which we or our service providers process it, for example, by entering into approved standard contractual clauses with the recipient (where required under applicable law). a) The Rights Available Depending on Your Jurisdiction.
Depending on the laws in your jurisdiction, you may be entitled to exercise the following data subject rights, subject to applicable exceptions:
- Right to Confirm, Know, and Access: You have the right to confirm processing and know and access the personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of personal information, the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information, the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. Where it is technically feasible or required, you may receive this information in a portable format.
- Right to Delete or Erase: In specific conditions set forth by applicable law, you have the right to have us to delete or erase the personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Correct or Rectify: You have the right to correct, rectify and complete inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Object to Processing: You have the right to object to certain processing of your Personal Information that is carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where we process Personal Information for direct marketing, you can object to that processing at any time.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to restrict to certain processing (that is, limit processing to data storage only) under certain conditions.
- Opt-Out of Sharing for Targeted Advertising or Sale of Personal Information: You have the right to opt-out of sharing for targeted advertising or sale of personal information, including sharing or sales based on our use of cookies and other trackers, as those terms are used under applicable privacy laws.
- Limit the Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: You have the right to limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: To the extent we are processing your personal information based on consent, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time, except as otherwise provided by law.
- Right to Contest or Appeal: You may have the right to contest or appeal our decision with respect to your exercise of a privacy right.
- Right to No Discrimination: You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of your privacy rights.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right in specific conditions to receive your Personal Information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have us transfer your Personal Information, when possible.

We may need to verify your identity before honoring your privacy rights request. In some instances, we will verify your identity by asking you to provide personal information related to your recent interactions with us. We will respond to your request within the deadline applicable in your jurisdiction, if any.
If permitted or required by applicable law, you may exercise your privacy rights through an authorized agent. If we receive your request from an authorized agent, we may ask for evidence that you have provided such agent with valid authority to submit requests to exercise rights on your behalf. 12. Special Provisions Applicable to Residents of California
If you are a California resident, you may be entitled to certain of the rights set forth above under “Your Rights” under applicable California state laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act and related regulations, as may be amended from time to time (“CCPA”).
Sensitive Personal Information. Notwithstanding the purposes described above in this Privacy Policy, we do not collect, use, or disclose “sensitive personal information” beyond the purposes authorized by applicable privacy law. Accordingly, we only use and disclose sensitive personal information as reasonably necessary and proportionate: (i) to perform our services requested by you; (ii) to help ensure security and integrity, including to prevent, detect, and investigate security incidents; (iii) to detect, prevent and respond to malicious, fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal conduct; (iv) to verify or maintain the quality and safety of our services; (v) for compliance with our legal obligations; (vi) to our service providers who perform services on our behalf; and (vii) for purposes other than inferring characteristics about you.
Sales and Sharing of Personal Information. The CCPA defines “sale” as disclosing or making available personal information to a third-party in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration, and “sharing” includes disclosing or making available personal information to a third-party for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising. While we do not disclose personal information to third parties in exchange for monetary compensation, we may “sell” or “share” the following categories of personal information: identifiers and internet and network activity information. We may disclose these categories to third-party advertising networks, analytics providers, and social networks for purposes of analytics, marketing and advertising and to improve and measure our ad campaigns. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, nor do we sell or share personal information about individuals we know are under age sixteen (16).
Right to Opt-Out of Sales and Sharing. To exercise your right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, you may do so by managing your cookie preferences by clicking the icon at the left bottom of your screen when you visit our site. We will apply your opt-out based upon the personal information in our records that is linked or reasonably linkable to the information provided in your request. You may also click the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link at the bottom of our Site.
In addition, if we detect that your browser or device is transmitting an opt-out preference signal, such as the “global privacy control” or “GPC” signal, we will opt that browser or device out of cookies that result in a “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. California’s “Shine the Light” law. California Civil Code section 1798.83, requires certain businesses to respond to requests from California customers asking about the business’ practices related to disclosing personal information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. You are entitled to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 13. Special Provisions Applicable to Residents of Nevada
If you are a resident of Nevada, you have the right to opt-out of the sale of certain Personal Information to third parties who intend to license or sell that Personal Information. You can exercise this right by contacting us with the subject line “Nevada Do Not Sell Request” and providing us with your name and the email address associated with your account. Please note that we do not currently sell your Personal Information as sales are defined in Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A.
