Edge Impulse is excited to announce its University Program! Educating the next generation of engineers, scientists, makers, and designers is one of our core values, and we want to help you teach edge machine learning. We will provide more details about the program later this month, but you can be among the first to know.

Machine learning has been around since the 1950s, but the use cases for running such algorithms on resource-constrained devices (such as microcontrollers and single board computers) is only now starting to pick up steam. We recognize that machine learning is gaining popularity and that it can be difficult to keep up with changes in industry. It’s important to ensure your students feel ready for a career in industry or academia, equipped with the latest tools and techniques.
The Edge Impulse University Program is designed to get you up to speed as fast as possible and start teaching edge ML next semester (and beyond). If approved, your department will receive the following:
- Several hardware kits to loan to students
- Curated content with concepts and project ideas you can use in your courses
- Access to a network of experts
Stay tuned for the full announcement. We are working to provide kits and content by the end of May. You will need to fill out an application and we will review them, offering free hardware kits to a limited number of departments. Kits will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you’ll need to prove that you’re a faculty member at a school teaching embedded ML.
If you’d like to be the first in line to apply, please fill out this form to add your email address to our University Program mailing list. We’ll send you a notification when the application form is live.
Also, we will be attending the following events:
- ECEDHA annual conference in New Orleans (March 24-28)
- ASEE annual conference in Minneapolis (June 26-29)
