Impulse Experiments: Revolutionize Your AI Project Workflow

We are thrilled to introduce an exciting update to Edge Impulse: the "Impulse Experiments" feature! This Impulse design overhaul will enhance your model workflows and accelerate your project development cycles by allowing users to experiment with different impulses simultaneously, along with many other upgrades.

Here's a quick rundown of what's new:

1. Multiple active impulses in one project: With Impulse Experiments, you can now have multiple active impulses within a single project. Want to experiment with both FOMO and MobileNet SSD simultaneously on the same dataset? No problem! Just add two impulses and use the new dropdown menu under "Impulse design" in the left navigation bar to switch between them. This also allows you to view "Model testing" results for various model configurations in one project overview.

2. New "Experiments": The navbar now features "Experiments" — housing the new Impulses overview and the EON Tuner. The impulse overview provides a comprehensive display of all your active impulses, highlighting configuration differences, and showing accuracy and performance metrics. You can also clone impulses to a new project, either duplicating just the structure or including all the data.

3. Removal of "block versioning": We have streamlined the process by removing "block versioning." Projects that previously used block versioning will now have each configuration converted into individual impulses. Rest assured, no data or configurations will be lost during this transition.

4. API enhancements: For those utilizing our API, many endpoints now include an optional "impulse ID" parameter. If you work with a single impulse, you can continue using the API as before without any changes.

5. Improved EON Tuner integration: The EON Tuner now allows you to add trials directly to your impulse list, eliminating the need to "Set a trial as primary." This means you can review Tuner results without disrupting your project's current state, making it a more efficient process.

These changes will significantly improve your workflow and accelerate your development cycles, getting you from data to deployment in production even quicker! We encourage you to explore the new feature and let us know if you have any questions or feedback.

Impulse experiments are available to all Edge Impulse users; community tier is limited to three (3) concurrent experiments, while Professional Plan and Enterprise users will have unlimited experiment access. Be sure to sign up for an Enterprise Trial to test out all the great features that Edge Impulse offers.
