What is Discord?
Already have a Discord account? No need to read this section, just click that link above and join us! If you’re not familiar with Discord, no stress, we’re here to help.
Discord is a voice, video, and text communication app used by over two hundred million people to hang out and play games with their friends.
Although originally created to help gamers talk to each other while playing online (and still being primarily focused on that sector), in recent years there has been an uptick in developers connecting in Discord communities.
Why Discord?
We want a way to engage with our developer community in a more casual, real-time manner that compliments our other social platforms. The overall feel of Discord aligns with what we were looking for — playful and approachable — and the platform includes features that will support future plans (think live demos/builds, voice hangouts, AMAs, exclusive perks…)
What about the forum?
Does this mean that our forum is going away? Not at all! The forum is still the best location for technical support related to the Edge Impulse platform. Discord will be supplemental and complimentary to the forum and our other existing channels.
